We organise farm visits in the Berlin area which are specifically intended for gastronomes and farmers. Our aim is to share knowledge about agricultural cultivation methods, spark a conversation around product quality, and show the connection of individual ingredients to our whole food system. Through these farm visits, we bring producers and cooks closer together and nurture their mutual appreciation.

PLANTAGE

Take a good look inside the vegetable box… and, whilst you’re at it, into the system behind it?
In early May 2025, we were out and about in the fields near Frankfurt (Oder) and in Berlin – with soil on our hands and a question on our minds: How does community-supported agriculture work – and can it also be applied to the catering industry?

On Monday, Judith and Frederik from PlantAge showed us round part of their 40-hectare plot near Frankfurt (Oder), where vegetables, herbs and fruit are grown. We tasted wild herbs, marvelled at the machinery and learnt what it means to supply over 500 households, shops and even kitchens with organic vegan vegetables – and reflected on what it would take to forge an even closer link between the kitchen and the field.
