We organise farm visits in the Berlin area which are specifically intended for gastronomes and farmers. Our aim is to share knowledge about agricultural cultivation methods, spark a conversation around product quality, and show the connection of individual ingredients to our whole food system. Through these farm visits, we bring producers and cooks closer together and nurture their mutual appreciation.
Wilmars Gärten
On 6 May, we were guests at Maria Giménez and Wilmars Gärten in Märkisch Wilmersdorf – around 40 km south of Berlin.
As a colourful group of chefs, restaurateurs and students from the OSZ Gastgewerbe, we strolled through the fields in bright sunshine, inspected vegetable gardens, peeked into greenhouses and trudged through the tall agroforestry. We are very pleased about the keen interest in regenerative agriculture and are impressed by how Maria and her team practise a model on the land that aims to work with what already exists and at the same time try out new things.
Thanks to Maria for the great tour and many exciting answers. It was great and we look forward to seeing you again – in Berlin at the market or in Brandenburg in the fields!
