On Debuting as a Young Winemaker, with Jan- Philipp Bleeke [DE]

1 December 2020 @ 19:30 - 20:30

Debuting as a young winemaker without a vineyard and capital to start with, how does it work? On Tuesday, December 01 at 7:30pm CET we’re speaking with Jan-Philipp Bleeke about alternative models that can make this possible. Jan-Philipp is a career changer and found the way to his dream job via detours. After a stay abroad on a vineyard in New Zealand he decided to become a winemaker. He produces biodynamic wine on the Moselle and is particularly committed to the exchange between winemakers and wine drinkers. He is currently building Germany’s first community-supported winery, which turns wine lovers into co-winemakers and in which costs, risks and profits are shared. We will talk to him about the history of this project, his experiences and plans for the future, and making wine as a collective. And of course about good natural wine!

SPEAKER

Jan-Philipp Bleeke

Jan- Philipp Bleeke found his dream job via several detours. After a stay abroad on a vineyard in New Zealand he decided to become a winemaker. He produces biologically dynamic wine and is particularly committed to the exchange between winegrowers and wine drinkers. A dialogue that should strengthen understanding and appreciation. In the form of the solidary wine economy Jan- Philipp Bleeke involves consumers in the production process.
