DAS SYMPOSIUM 2021 – FAQs

Das Symposium – Who’s in?

Do you grow vegetables, keep animals or catch fish? Do you bake bread or brew beer? Or do you work as a butcher or cook? Whether in a small café, a restaurant or a large kitchen, whether you are a student or an apprentice – if you are interested in joining a discourse on food culture and the relationship between agriculture, foodcraft and gastronomy and would like to exchange ideas openly, you can purchase a ticket for one or more topics of Das Symposium 2021.

How does it work?

Das Symposium 2021 will take place as a series of events from August to December 2021.The program will explore ten topics, with each topic taking place over four days. In smaller groups of approximately 30 people, Das Symposium 2021 will focus on the following topics: Pulses, Grains, Soil, Ferments, Aged Milk, Scales & Shells, Tails & Feathers, Drinks, Sweets and Food Education. For each topic, the program consists of four days of digital and practical formats such as field trips, workshops and visits to production sites. The practical program takes place in Berlin and the surrounding area. A separate ticket can be purchased for each of the ten topics. Additionally, Das Symposium 2021 is framed by a kickoff and closing event.
